Holy Family Primary School (HFPS) won the Labasa Zone Two athletics meet yesterday.

The school bagged 20 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze medals and dominated the girls category with 18 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze.

HFPS teacher Veremo Tikolutu thanked the 127 students who participated.

“More than 70 per cent of our athletes have secured a spot to participate in the Northern Divisional Primary Schools Athletics Chow Games in Labasa next month,” Tikolutu said.

“This is the second year we have managed to collect the highest medals in the Labasa Zone Two meet.”

Malakai Seru, 14, a Year Eight student,  who won the 100 metres is looking forward the Chow Games .

“I will definitely want to win in the Northern Divisional Primary Schools Athletics Chow Games because I have what it takes and that is speed.”
