Our PM To New Zealand: Let Bygones Be Bygones

Prime Ministers Voreqe Bainimarama and John Key met at Government House in Auckland yesterday. |
Mr Bainimarama emerged in a jovial mood, according to New Zealand media reports.
It came with the success of his first official visit to New Zealand since the 2014 general elections.
He was accorded full state honours yesterday by New Zealand and had an official meeting with Mr Key.
Mr Bainimarama told journalists afterwards: “I’m very pleased that the Prime Minister has agreed to work with me to take our relationship to another level. A relationship in which we let bygones be bygones and work closely together to advance the interests of the Fijian and New Zealand peoples.”
Mr Key told journalists he’s encouraged by Fiji’s progress since the elections two years ago. He said it was time to move forward.
“It’s always a lot more fun looking at the front window than the rear vision mirror and I think that will serve both sides best,” he told New Zealand journalists.
