The hunt is on for a man who allegedly sexually harassed a Year 1 student at a public library in Suva.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that a report had been lodged at the Totogo Police Station.

It is believed that the man entered the library when the librarian was occupied with other students. He allegedly headed for the children’s section.

It is believed that he saw the Year 1 student alone and kissed her, before asking her to undress herself.

The child raised the alarm and threw books at the man who ran from the scene. It is believed that earlier yesterday the man was also removed from the Olympic Pool for attempting something similar.

Ms Naisoro has issued a stern warning that Police will not take any such incidents lightly. She has also urged members of public to reach out with any information they may have about the man.
