Radisson Blu Resort Fiji has appointed Kushend Kumar as its new Director leading the Sales and Marketing department.

Mr Kumar said “I am very excited for the role I have been appointed for and I will try my level best to lead the company with good examples.”

He said the years of experience he had in the Tourism Industry was a plus for him.

“I have been in this sector for 21 years now and being exposed to this environment has given me a lot of experience about how work is supposed to BE done,” he said.

“I will incorporate all the learning experiences I have gone through so far, to make informed decisions as far as my work is concerned.

“I believe my work experience is a plus as a result and I am looking forward to a very challenging time here at Radisson Blu Hotels and Resorts.”

He also encourages everyone to work hard to achieve something in life.

“I initially started as a receptionist but being appointed to such a position was a dream come true,” Mr Kumar said.

I have achieved all this through hard work, being persistent and having an interest in learning anything new that came across.

“There is always room for improvement in everything we do, therefore always work hard, never give up and always have a positive approach to everything in life.

“Learning from your mistakes is the best thing one learns from.”

Kumar was appointed to his position at the prominent Denarau Resort on October 11th.

Work Experience

Mr Kumar has spent nineteen years in Sales, Marketing and Revenue Management, a rare but a vital combination to hold.

Fluent in Japanese, he started his journey in the industry as a Japanese Coordinator and receptionist at the then Fiji Mocambo Hotel managed by Shangri-La in Namaka, Nadi .

He started in 1995 and spent six years there.

In 2001, he then moved to the Coral Coast and worked at Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort & Spa for one year as the Sales Manager.

In 2012 he joined Outrigger Fiji Resort and worked there for two years as the Director Sales.

He then moved to Warwick Fiji Resort and worked there as the Sales Director before joining Radisson Blu Hotels and Resorts.
