Ratu Filise Upset Thunderbolts

Ratu Filise caused the biggest upset of the first day of the Central Coast International 7s tournament in Sydney, Australia yesterday.
The Amenoni Nasilasila captained- side beat the Aussie Thunderbolts 21-12 in their pool opener.
The Thunderbolts comprised members of the Australian 7s team as they prepare for 2016/17 World Sevens Series.
In their opening clash Davetalevu managed to hold Tabadamu 5-5 while Hideaway Hurricanes edged out Newtown 14-5. The Police side proved too strong for Uluinakau 14-0.
Australian men’s head coach Andy Friend is looking to build a sevens squad with a mix of experience and youth, after the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
“The Central Coast Sevens is a fantastic tournament and for us it gives us an opportunity to look at players across the two teams as we continue to build for the World Sevens Series,” he said.
“With a period of change for us, this is an exciting time for players to put their hand up for selection and secure a spot in our squad heading into the World Series.”
The tournament continues today.
