Sami Scores Twice For Rakiraki, Face Bua Today
Pillay Garments Rakiraki defeated Lami 3-1 in the Vodafone Senior League at the Fiji Football Academy in Suva yesterday.
Veteran Salesh Sami scored twice for the Blues in the first half with Ronald Lawrence sealing the win in the second half.
Ashwin Singh scored for Lami.
“The boys played really well,”Rakiraki coach Pragdeesh Gounder said.
The team will play Bua at 3pm today.
“If we beat Bua we will qualify for the Super Premier division so the boys will give their best shot,” he said.
Meanwhile, Lami coach Deepak Chand highlighted lack of preparation as the cause of their downfall.
“One of the factors was that our players were red carded during the Courts IDC and they were unavailable,”Chand said.
The wet weather affects our training but good luck to the Rakiraki team.”
