Samoa Swimmers Provide Test In Suva

The Central Swimming Association applauded the involvement of their Samoa counterparts during the two-day Central and Regional Swimming.
CSA vice-president Viliame Takayawa said Samoa’s involvement boosted their participation at the Damodar City National Aquatic Centre yesterday.
“Samoa came here to improve their time and we’re happy to have them here to provide quality competition,” Takayawa said.
In the 200m freestyle heats, Samoa’s Brendon Schuster provided a tough competition for national rep Douglas Miller clocking 1min.54sec while Miller recorded 2min.09sec.
Samoa coach Suzie Schuster said their target was to give her swimmers exposure to high level competition.
“We have a junior squad but we don’t have enough teams in Samoa. And coming here is providing exposure to the swimmers.
“We brought eight swimmers and we want to show them what competition is all about,” Schuster said.
