Uluinakau Fall Short Of 7s Glory

The Australian Thunderbolts edged out Uluinakau Baabaas 24-21 in the grand final of the Central Coast Sevens tournament in Sydney, Australia last night. The Australians led by veteran forward Ed Jenkins won AUD$20,000 while the young Uluinakau side had to bank on speedster Waisea Nacuqu and 21-year-old Josua Vici.

The Amenoni Nasilasila-led Ratu Filise 7s team came in third after they edged out NSW 7s 17-10.

In the Cup semi-finals, Australia thrashed NSW 7s 28-5 while Uluinakau walloped Ratu Filise 31-0. The Namatakula-based side backed by former Australian double international Lote Tuqiri had only themselves to blame as indiscipline disrupted their play.

In the Plate final, Tabadamu led by former Vodafone Fijian 7s skipper Setefano Cakau beat ACT Brumbies 31-14.
