CMFI 7s Set To Start On Thursday

For the first time two tiers will be featured in the Christian Mission Fellowship International (CMFI) Macuata Region Rugby 7s tournament. The three-day tournament starts on Thursday at Subrail Park, Labasa.
CMFI official Jacky Takirua said, God gave them the format as to how to organise the tournament.
“We will be having tier one and tier two to give all teams a chance to compete,” the former Macuata Under-20 coach said.
“In tier one we will have the top contenders and strong teams from Viti Levu competing against teams from Vanua Levu.
“In tier two, we have the upcoming teams playing with those teams that feel can’t compete in the tier one.”
CMFI’s senior pastor Viliame Gauna said during the launch that the tournament was a platform for players to showcase their talents.
“We began with this tournament in 2014 but in a small scale. This is first time we have organised it in a big way.
