Deo Hoists Mervin Low Trophy

Manish Deo won the Mervin Low Memorial Trophy golf tournament at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa, Suva last Saturday.
The one-day tourney was played over 18 holes, which Deo scored 41 stableford points winning on a comeback from Tomasi Tuivuna who also scored on 41. Tuivuna also won the professional division.
Deo was winner in the A grade division, William Naisara finished in second place after a comeback from Mohammed Rizwan who both had 39 points.
Brett Brons won the B-grade division with 39 points, Sang Jae Park finished in second with 38 and Vijay Madhavan finished in third place with 37. In the C grade division Tuivuna took out first place with 41 points, Hyun Soo Lee finished in second after a comeback from Kevin Kwon who both collected 40.
In the Ladies division Ufemia Naisara won division one with 38 points and Dwi Jee finished in second with 31. Rachael Bale won division two with 35 points while Hilary Pickering finished in second place with 28.
Nearest to the pin in hole number two was John Watt, Shaun Hwang was hole number 12, Faizal Haniff hole number 16 and Mohammed Rizwan took out hole five. Ben Saukuru was best junior player, Margaret Browne for women and Paul Kitt for the men’s.
