USP: We Take Union Grievances Seriously

Majority of issues raised in the petition had been dealt with fully
The University of the South Pacific says it takes the USP Staff Union’s concerns seriously and has considered each one of them accordingly.
It added a formal written response to the USPSU had also been submitted.
USP said a majority of issues raised in the petition had been dealt with fully.
It said it had also invited the USPSU to a meeting tomorrow for “further amicable and conclusive discussions.”
About 200 union members went on a protest march last Friday with banners and placards with the support of students regarding the closure of a particular facility next year which would result in the laying off of staff.
The staff marched from the tennis court to the entrance of the Vice Chancellor’s office and handed over a petition.
The petition contained signatures of the aggrieved staff and their grievances.
