The official launch of the 2016 ANZ Ratu Sukuna Bowl tournament takes place this morning at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua, Suva. This was confirmed by a press release from the Fiji Police Force media cell.

Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho yesterday said this year’s tournament would be a David and Goliath match. He made the comments after visiting the Lautoka Police team to see how well they have training for the tournament.

“This is because the military are the military world champions and also they are the Escort Shield champions from the Suva Rugby competition,” he said.

“The military trains to fight. Most of their time are spent on training, training and training for various scenarios but for us in the Police Force we are really underdogs in the upcoming competition.”

Brigadier- General Qiliho said Police have a lot of things to deal with and also at the same time find time to train for the tournament.

“It is one of the busiest period in the way criminals operate as we build-up to the festive season. So for Police we will try hard to find time to train and be able to match our brothers from the military,” he added.
