Bula fellow car enthusiasts and wishing you all a happy Diwali.

I am happy to announce the fourth Pacific Energy Shell Lubricants Drag Race will be held on November 6 which is next Sunday.

Currently Ravin Nath is leading the series with two wins and Ravi Nair with one win is second.

I feel the pressure will be on Ravi Nair to win this series and it would tie the series. And if Ravin Nath wins this coming Sunday, then he will win the series as there will be one more left. But I am quite sure Ravi Nair will try his best to win the fourth series.

The other race cars to watch out for is Amal Singh and Vicky Nath. Both of them are in the 11 seconds club now and we shall see a very interesting challenge come Sunday.

In saying so, another two cars to look out for is Aiyum Ali and Sandeep Prakash’s Subaru STI. Both racers with their STI have entered the 12 seconds club it would be interesting to see them battle it out.

One again spectator entry is free and race entry is $25 per vehicle. Those who become members on the day, will get to race for free just for that particular event.

We encourage more ladies to participate in the drags.

Members to follow rules

After series three race, we had one member who had brought disrepute to Fiji Car Club by posting negative and untrue comments on social media.

We have said earlier on, that we will not tolerate members bringing disrepute to the club.

We have executives who start preparation from 7am till late and yet some of the members do not appreciate this.

It’s not only on the race day, but our executives work on the planning throughout the week using up their own personal time.

For one member to come out and accuse Fiji Car Club of being biased after that person has lost in his category is totally unacceptable.

After our last executives meeting, we have come to a conclusion to suspend the particular member for his outburst on social media.

Fiji Car Club welcomes comments and feedback from all members but proper procedure needs to be followed.

In that, all concerns need to be raised with the Fiji Car Club secretary who will then bring the issue at the executives meeting.
