The management and staff members of the Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA) held a Pinktober morning tea on Thursday.

This is to support its efforts in recognising the month of October as the National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

FEA acting chief executive officer Bobby Naimawi said: “Cancer is a disease and it is very prominent in our society. It is affecting most of the people in our communities.

“When we talk about cancer we turn to focus on those people who are suffering from cancer for a long period of time,” he said.

Mr Naimawi said FEA would continue to raise awareness on breast cancer every year to support Pinktober.

The money raised will go towards the Fiji Cancer Society.

Pinktober is an annual international health campaign organised by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.
