Ms Tueli To Promote Tourism

With less than a month to go, Digicel Bula Queen 2016 Grace Tueli is looking forward to the TFL Miss Fiji Pageant.
The pageant which is set to bring communities together is from November 12-19 at the Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
“My preparation has been going well and I am looking forward to a great week of the pageant,” Ms Tueli said.
“I have been working with the Nadi Town Council and the Bula Committee Trust in preparation for this event.”
The 22-year-old native of Kaba in Bau, Tailevu, will be advocating on tourism at the week-long affair.
“We are the International gateway and tourism in the West is something that has provided employment for the people of Nadi,” she said
“My advocacy will help promote how tourism has helped the Nadi community and in the West and I will be an ambassador during the week where I will showcase the reason why tourists want to come here to Nadi.”
Ms Tueli believes the challenges she faced has only made her stronger.
“I have faced a lot of challenges in terms of the changes in the programme,” she said.
“Also I am preparing, trying to match my traditional attire with the theme.”
She said her mother had always been a great support for her and she counted on her backing during that week.
“I come from a family of six and I lost my dad four years ago in October and my mom is the only one looking after us,” she said.
“The driving factor for us is of course spiritually.
“God has been something that has been there for me and trusting him in all my doings is the only strength that I have had and with all the support from my families and my sponsors I think I will do my best.”
Ms Tueli said she would be making short visits to the hotels and resorts to familiarise and understand more about tourism before the event.
Nadi Town Council chief executive officer Peter Dinning wished her well ahead of the competition.
