The President, Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote, has praised the resilience of the Fijian men and women serving under the Multinational Forces and Observers (MFO) mission in the Sinai.

As the Commander-in-Chief of the RFMF, President Konrote completed his tour of the Sinai, and thanked the Fijian troops for their role in maintaining peace and security there.

The President was briefed on the operations of the MFO in the region and was also briefed on the welfare and role of Fiji’s peacekeeping troops by Fiji battalion’s commanding officer Lieutenant-Colonel Avinish Kumar.

He visited the areas of operations where our men and women are serving and thanked them for their work.

He reminded the troops on the importance of their role in maintaining peace and security in volatile parts of the world.

President Konrote also wished them well in their peacekeeping duties.

“I go back with your well wishes and I hope to see you home soon safely once you have completed your mission,” the President said.
