Ntadradave Village headman  Tomasi Naisoso has expressed his concerns on the high number of rubbish accumulated on the roadsides leading up to the healing water site.

Mr Naisoso raised his concerns after a group of friends yesterday took the initiative to clean up and clear rubbish along the roadsides in the village.

He has also requested for the District Officer in Korovou to assist them in rubbish collection at least once a week and relook at the conditions of roadside rubbish bins.

Mr Naisoso however expressed his gratitude towards the group for their initiative in helping keep Natadrave clean.

The group of over 11 friends are part a closed Facebook forum called Tropical Root Juice with over 170 members locally and abroad.

A member of the group, Vilimoni Vulaidausiga, said the idea to assist in cleaning up was part of their many group initiatives.

He said they were concerned with the number of rubbish accumulated on the roadsides of Natadradave and decided to plan the clean-up initiative.

Mr Vulaidausiga said they started cleaning up from the village right up to the popular healing water site.

The group also recently visited children admitted at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva.

Meanwhile, the Queen Victoria School Old Boys Association presented brush cutters to Natadradave and Delakado Villages to assist them with their community clean up.

The brush cutters were donated by Social Democratic Party (SODELPA) leader Sitiveni Rabuka who is also a very active member of the QVSOBs.
