13 Confirmed For North Games

A total of 13 teams will be taking part in the 2016 Northern Chow Games Athletics competition.

Fiji Primary School Athletics Association Northern Branch president Eliki Mae said yesterday preparation for all the teams are now well underway.

“These teams have already paid their entry fees for the game,” Mae said.

“A team from FPSAA will be coming in with an electronic timer and the photo-finish equipment on the 14th of this month.

“This will also give a chance for them to meet with the team managers before the event gets underway on November 15.”

He said having the competition in the North compared to the annual trips made to Suva was far less expensive.

“Now, the teams will only have to travel to Suva once every three years and this is a great opportunity for participants to achieve something.

“This kind of competition is good for the students as they get to socialise with their counterparts from other schools.”

He said they were looking forward to a good tournament and wish all participants the best.

Participating teams are: Macuata– Macuata North, Labasa Zone 1, Labasa Zone 2, Seaqaqa and Dreketi; Bua – Bua 1, Bua 2 and Bua 3; Cakaudrove – Yanuca, Taveuni, Buca Bay, Cakaudrove East and Wailevu
