Bring It On: Coach

The Fijiana 15s side are ready to face Papua New Guinea for the inaugural Oceania Rugby Championship at the ANZ Stadium, Suva on Saturday.
Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Fijiana coach Seremaia Bai said the girls are excited as they know they would be playing on home soil.
“Of course we are ready,” the former star rugby international said.
“We are learning every day and we are growing and the girls are ready. Preparations are good and the girls are very competitive as they know the task ahead. It’s been very positive but we are confident at where we are at the moment so the girls are excited.
“There’s a mix of girls who have been playing for quite a while and for those who have reached this level. But for those who have worked their way into the team we are trying to develop them. We’ve a good mix.
“We are touching base on our defence individual tackling techniques and the basics.
“Basic defence is very important for us. We need to be strong as a team in terms of defence; this is all about owning your role.”
Bai has called on the public to show the girls their support as they have a few goals they are hoping to achieve.
“We just need their support if they can come down in numbers and support the girls.
“We are working towards qualifying for the world cup. Our short term goal is to qualify for the Oceania qualifiers so we just need the public to come down and we will try our best to entertain them with high class rugby.”
The inaugural Oceania Rugby Championship clash kicks-off at 3pm.
