The 34-year-old driver of Barara Flats in Nadi, who was involved in a road accident at Sabeto last Sunday is in stable condition at the Lautoka Hospital.

The four people were alleged to be involved in head on collisions and were rushed to the Nadi Hospital when the incident occurred.

Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that the driver has been transferred from the Nadi Hospital over the weekend because of the serious injuries sustained.

“The driver in the Sabeto case is recovering in stable condition at the Lautoka Hospital,” she said.

According to Police, the vehicle driven by the man is alleged to have overtaken at a sharp bend and collided with an oncoming vehicle which had three people on board.

The three people were treated and sent home. Investigations are in process.

Meanwhile, Police are still appealing for information after the tragic death of 30-year-old Mereoni Kalini, who was found dead on the side of the road near Volivoli Village in Sigatoka.

Police also confirmed that the victim, a mother of four, died in a hit-and-run incident on October 22.
