European Investment Bank Vice President, Ambroise Fayolle.

European Investment Bank Vice President, Ambroise Fayolle, will sign an extension of the bank’s technical assis-tance programme with the Fiji Electricity Authority tomorrow.

This will be part of Mr Fayolle’s planned visit to Fiji this week.

He is also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama as well as Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

This has been announced by the Delegation of the European Union for the Pacific.
Further meetings will be held with European Union Ambassador to Fiji and the Pacific, Andrew Jacobs and other foreign dignitaries.

This would be to discuss further cooperation, as well as with Development Partners, stakeholders and the Media.

The EIB has been engaged in Fiji since 1978 and has provided project funding in the form of loans, totalling nearly EUR 135 million FJ$305 million over the years.

These projects included the ‘Nadi Aircraft Maintenance Centre’ and various investment in the tourism sector, the supply of energy on Viti Levu, as well as investments in the forest industry.
