The Vodafone Fijian 7s team to represent the country in the Oceania 7s tournament will be named on Thursday.

This was confirmed yesterday to SUNsports by national team manager Ropate Kauvesi.

“Around 16 players marched in today and these are the ones that took part in the Central Coast 7s, some are still making their way to camp and we will be making cuts on Thursday,” he said.

As most of the extended squad are hoping to make their debut next week, Kauvesi says, moving close to the Oceania Rugby 7s, he is quite confident with the players in the team.

“The squad are continuing with their training and they have made a lot of improvements from when they started off. I’m happy about that, we are just waiting for the rest of the boys to come in and we will kick-off from there. I think we have a good side for the Oceania,” he added.

Kauvesi confirmed Olympic gold medallist Jerry Tuwai has joined camp while national captain Osea Kolinisau is expected to join the side this week after a World Sevens Series photo shoot in South Africa.
