$50K For Sukuna Bowl

The 2016 Ratu Sukuna Bowl challenge was boosted with $50,000 sponsorship from ANZ as gold sponsors for the event.
This marks the third year in a four-year partnership between ANZ, the Fiji Police Force and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces to support the annual event.
The bank’s head of corporate Sitiveni Marovia says this is an excellent platform for friendly sporting competition and an important annual event for Fiji.
Sukuna Bowl committee chairman Lt. Colonel Alipate Vosaicake acknowledged the support from ANZ as the competition will begin in three weeks’ time.
He also revealed a new sport that will be introduced into the competition.
“The Sukuna Bowl is more like a festive week which will start from Monday,”he said.
“We will have the golf tournament where the business-houses, diplomats and most of the members of Parliament including senior officers from the RFMF and the Police will be participating in a match. It is more like awareness for the development of youth and sports as well.
“Golf was introduced last year and this year we will introduce rugby league and we are hoping that maybe next year we will introduce the U18 rugby so that we can involve most of our families and students because it is a family affair.
“It’s from Monday, boxing will continue in the evening and Wednesday we will see the netball and volleyball cricket and football and the main event on Thursday which is rugby.”
Vosaicake added due to the external exams they could not have the Under-18 rugby competition but will be considering it in the future.
