More than 100 traditional leaders would be attending the training: Roko Tui Cakaudrove
For the first time leaders’ training has been organised for the traditional leaders of Wailevu district in Cakaudrove Province.
Roko Tui Cakaudrove Filimone Naiqumu said this training was organised by the Ministry of the iTaukei Affairs.
The permanent secretary for iTaukei Affairs Naipote Katonibau would open the two-day training at Valeni Village in Cakaudrove Province on November 7.
“Wailevu district is the biggest district in Fiji in terms of having the highest number of villages and that is 27,” Mr Naiqumu said.
“More than 100 traditional leaders would be attending the training.
“I would like to thank the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs for organising this special training.
“This training will surely equip the leaders with knowledge especially about developments and how they can effectively perform their role towards having a stable vanua.
“Also a few number of traditional leaders’ titles are vacant which somehow this training will assist in bringing up new leaders.
“We are very optimistic that this training would bring about productivity in our province.”
Mr Naiqumu said that this training would be rolled out as a model and then later conducted in other districts in Fiji.
