Fijiana Reminded

The Fijiana XV side have been reminded of their individual roles as they take on Papua New Guinea for the inaugural Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship at the ANZ Stadium tomorrow.
Interim coach Seremaia Bai said with only three weeks to prepare the women have been reminded to focus on the game plan.
“We only have three weeks to prepare so for now we are just telling the players to understand their roles,” Bai said.
The side is adamant of a positive performance against PNG who are bringing in six overseas based players led by veteran France- based Melanie Kawa.
“We know PNG will bring experienced players but I have told the girls it’s all about what we can control and we have to organise ourselves.
“Our forward pack have both experienced and young players. It’s very exciting as we have Esiteri Bulikiobo, Sereima Leweniqila and Leilanie Burnes and these girls have good leadership skills,” Bai said.
The former Flying Fijians first-five eighth also rated the backline who are also looking good led by former Telecom Fijiana 7s rep Talica Vodo.
Bai is urging members of the public to support the side tomorrow.
“We just need Fijians support, it means a lot to them and their families.”
The side will conclude their preparation with the captain’s run at the ANZ Stadium at 11am today.
