An interesting Drags Anticipated

Hello fellow car enthusiasts. It will be an interesting day tomorrow as we enter into our fourth leg of the Pacific Energy Shell Lubricants ¼ Mile Drag Race series.

Currently we have Ravin Nath leading the series with two wins and Ravi Nair has one win. Ravi Nair will be under pressure to win this leg to level it out with Ravin Nath.

We are expecting a big crowd to come tomorrow as this will be the second last event for the year.

After this, we will have one more before we close off for the season and the date will be announced later for the last event.

Spectator entry will be free so that means you will not pay anything to watch some of Fiji’s fastest cars race.

Also for racers, you will be paying only $25 to race. If you become a member on the day, you will race for free.

Ladies also will race for free once again. In saying so, I am requesting lady drivers to come in numbers. In the last event, we had only four ladies who took part.

As per last event’s response, I would like to see more lady drivers participate. We hoping at least six ladies turn out for the race.

I hope the male race car drivers get their wife/girlfriend and allow them to participate using the same car. The same car can be used by either partners.

Two cars to look out for apart from Ravin Nath will be Sandeep Prakash and Aiyum Ali.

Both have the same type of car and both are in the 12 seconds club. The last one was won by Aiyum Ali. Sandeep Prakash has to come out stronger to retain his trophy he has winning in the last four events.

Road safety

I wish to remind spectators and the public driving down to Pacific Harbour to watch the race to stay within the speed limit and drive safely.

Whether it be from the Central Division or the West, we urge you all to be cautious when driving.

We have seen before that a lot of accidents do happen when spectators rush or drive above the speed limit and they end up in accidents.

We want to create a good image for the FCC an everyone’s contribution will be highly appreciated.

Sponsorship

I would also like to thank Rajnesh and Tupou from Pacific Energy for all their efforts on the day. Also Joji Productions who ensure the sponsors get the best mileage throughout the day.

And not forgetting Pacific Energy for their sponsorship which has provided a major boost for motor sports development in the country.

Rajnesh isn’t only helping out, but he has started racing as well and it is good to see that he has started winning his category for the past two races.

He has done impressive timing and his interest indicates he might get a better performance car in the next season.
