Fijiana XV inside centre Talica Vodo looks forward to making her debut against Papua New Guinea in the inaugural Oceania Women’s Championship at the ANZ Stadium today.

Vodo, who is also the vice-captain, has been rated highly by team officials on her workrate

“This is my first test in 15s as I always play 7s,”Vodo said.

“But when the trial was organised I decided to give it a try and given a spot in the team is a huge achievement for me.

“This is a very special moment for me playing in front of our home crowd especially my family who normally watched me on television.”

The Batiri, Nadroga native who has maternal links to Lutu, Wainibuka has been playing the sport for eight years and believes today’s match will be a good experience.

“This is another learning experience for me and I never dreamt that one day I will be playing a test match for my country at home.”
