Fijiana XV interim coach Seremaia Bai is likely to be in charge of the team in the  2017 Rugby World Cup qualifier  in Hong Kong next month.

Preparing the team for three weeks with  former Flying Fijians Ro Alifereti Doviverata and Kele Leawere, the Lailanie Burnes captained team demolished Papua New Guinea 37-10 at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.

Fiji Rugby Union chief executive officer John O’Connor commended Bai’s input.

“We will make the announcement of the Fijiana XVs coach in a few days but we are thinking of giving Bai the opportunity.

“We’ve seen the culture he brought into the team, more professional and unites the team,” O’Connor said.

“We will maintain the same coaching staff for the repechage in Hong Kong next month.

“I’m proud of the achievement and they have done their families and the country proud.”
