The Rip Curl Micro Grommet Series finished at the Swimming Pools in Namotu Island yesterday.  This column is submitted on a Friday so I’m unable to give the results here today. However be rest assured the full results will be published tomorrow.

Head Judge Romeo McKellar said he knew several of the grommets have been out at swimming pools training and some have been training at their local breaks all keen to improve their points total and claim the inaugural medallions.

Divisions include Under-14 boys and girls, Under-12 boys and girls and Under- 10 boys and girls.

WHAT’S NEXT

The FSA is grateful to their sponsors Rip Curl, Jack’s, Fiji Surf Co, McDonald’s, Bank South Pacific and Vatuvara Resort. Without their generosity towards the development to junior surfing in Fiji the event would not have happened.

Pictured are some photo’s of what the grommets just might get for the contest.

The Fijian team for the World Stand Up Paddle (SUP) titles next weekend have had their trials and a strong team have been selected. Countries from all over the world like Sweden, Brazil, Hawaii, New Zealand and Australia will be amongst the competition.

WHAT’S ON TODAY

Scheduled to start on November 12 and run through to November 20, out at Cloudbreak and nearby surf spots. With five different disciplines it will mean a lot of paddlers excited to be out at the world class break of Cloudbreak and Restaurants. Head out and keep your eyes peeled to see all of the action.

Today at 1pm the FSA is conducting a free Club conference at Beachouse. With 8 registered clubs and many topics to discuss I’m sure there will be some great outcomes. Make sure your club is represented.
