Most of the youth who turned up for the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation and Nescafé ‘Make Your Move’ dance contest were very enthusiastic to take part. Auditions started yesterday at the Fiji Brodcasting Corporation office in Suva.

“This is my opportunity to showcase my dancing talent,” said 19-year-old Becky Wainiu.

22-year-old Maggie Shivani said it was an opportunity of a lifetime.

“I am interested in dancing since my childhood and this would be a great platform to showcase my talent.”

19-year-old Ifereimi Tara said: “This is a very good platform where youths can showcase their dancing talent and I am so thankful to FBC and Nescafe.”

2Day FM programmes director Allan Stevens said: “It’s a Nescafe Make Your Move dance competition and we are looking for raw talented individual but not professionals or groups.

“It’s a chance for young people who have talent of dancing, but never have put it on stage. This is an opportunity for them to come and showcase their dancing talent and win $3000.

“There have been a lot of responses for this competition.”

Mr Stevens said they gave youths two options either to come for auditions yesterday at FBC in person or to send the video of their dance performance and post the video on Nescafe’s (Fiji) Facebook page.

“I have heard from Nescafe that they have been receiving a lot of entries through video from those  who could not make it to the auditions,” Mr Stevens said.

“I think most youths do dancing and the only thing they lack is confidence and hope through this they will gain confidence and showcase their talent.”

The competition started on September 29 and it will end on December 3.

The winner of the competition will receive $3000, first runner up $2000 and second runner up will receive $1000. They will also get chance to perform live with FBC.

The semi-finals will be held five days later on Thursday November 10 and the grand finale on the 3rd of December at Albert Park in Suva.
