Police Investigate Collision Case

Motorists continue to turn a blind eye on entry and exit turns, the Fiji Police Force said yesterday.

Police made the statement after a driver allegedly entered the exit area of a service station along Princes Road in Sawani, Nausori, colliding with a bike on Sunday.

The video of the incident was posted on the FIJI BIKES  Facebook on the page and garnered a lot of reactions.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the accident is under investigation.

“According to the traffic officer in Nausori, no one has been charged yet as investigations is continuing.

“The allegation is that the other vehicle made an illegal turn, however, investigations is still on-going,” Ms Naisoro said.

Issues were raised on a social media page on how the matter was handled at the Nausori Police Station.

“If there are any concerns about the way the matter was handled, they are more than welcome to lodge a complaint which will also be investigated,” Ms Naisoro said.

The victim was rushed to hospital and is believed to be in a stable condition.
