Youth Groups Urged To Play In 7s Tournament

The Can Do Generation 7s tournament gets underway at Subrail Park, Labasa this weekend.
Event committee manager Filimoni Saumaki said yesterday preparations are well underway and they are looking forward to a great tournament.
“This tournament is organised by the Labasa Christian Mission Fellowship (CMF) youths,” he said.
“The aim is to bring young people together and help develop their rugby talents. And for the youth group, this is an opportunity to share the word of God with their peers.”
With only two days to the event, Saumaki says, the door is still open for interested teams to register.
“We have teams registered already and we are extending our invitation to other teams to come and register if they want to participate.
“The entry fee is $300 and we are looking at taking in 32 teams to participate in the two-day meet which starts on Friday.
“This is strictly on a first come, first serve basis.”
Saumaki said they are also urging members of the public to attend the event and support the youths.
“This is also a time to get together and watch our young players in action,” he added.
