Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama on Wednesday visited our Fijian peacekeeping troops serving in the Golan Heights.

The visit came amidst the PM’s state visit to Israel.

Our Fijian men and women are serving in the Golan Heights under the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF).

Mr Bainimarama was accompanied by his wife Mary, and the Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development and National Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Robin Nair, and Permanent Secretary for the Prime Minister’s Office, Yogesh Karan.

Mr Bainimarama earlier met his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, where he extended an invitation to Mr Netanyahu and his family to visit Fiji.

After visiting Fijian troops in the Middle East  the PM will then travel to Marrakesh, Morocco, to attend the COP22, the UN climate body’s (UNFCCC) 22nd conference of the parties.
