Unbeaten Fijiana On Track

Telecom Fijiana recorded a three out of three wins in day one of the Oceania 7s at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.
Fiji thrashed Papua New Guinea 54-0, edged out Samoa 28-5 before thumping Tonga 38-0.
Coach Iliesa Tanivula said the tournament was physically tough for the girls but it is with the way they managed to control each game.
“It was a good day for the girls as they had a bit of momentum in the way they played each game which was good,” Tanivula said.
“It was definitely a tough day, playing against the Tongans and Samoans was really physical because of their size but the girls managed to handle themselves well.
“I am definitely pleased with how the girls played in all their games, we got three wins and had one try conceded against us was a good effort by the girls. I hope we just keep stepping up.”
Tanivula said their main objective going into each game is to do better from their previous game and hopes his players can achieve that today.
“Our main aim is to step up in each game and improve from our last, the girls have been playing well but there is still a lot that needs to be done,” he said.
“We need some continuity within the team, we are slowly building towards that and we hope to carry on from where we left off.”
