Ba Hospital Construction Within The Timeframe

The new Ba Hospital is expected to be completed by March next year.

The Ministry of Health and Medical Services project officer, Kamal Kapoor, said the $27.7 million project was in its finishing stages with much of the work achieved within the timeframe.

“We had much issues post Cyclone Winston and then with the building materials. But we managed to cope with the challenge,” Mr Kapoor said.

He said the hospital would have the capacity of 70 beds, two operating theatres, X-ray facilities and a dental surgery.

“It will be a fully-fledged hospital,” Mr Kapoor said.

The Acting Prime Minister and Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and the Minister of Health and Medical Services, Rosy Akbar toured the hospital on Thursday.
