Ten men allegedly involved with a group facing sedition charges will appear in the Magistrates Court this morning.

The suspects were arrested at the weekend while allegedly holding a meeting in the Western Division.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed yesterday that the men would be presented in the Nadi Magistrates Court for allegedly breaching their bail conditions, whereby they had convened a meeting.

It is alleged the meeting was held somewhere in Nadi when Police made a swoop on the group.

However, another unconfirmed report said the meeting was allegedly held in Nadroga.

The men, along with 67 others have their sedition cases pending before the High Court in Lautoka.

A total of 77 people have been charged with sedition charges and their cases were presented before the High Court in Lautoka.

All those charged were granted bail.

Of the total, 16 accused from Nadroga are charged with one count of sedition contrary to Section 67 (1) (a) and inciting communal antagonism contrary to Section 65 (2) (a) of the Crimes Decree 2009.

Sixteen from Ra face similar charges.

The remaining 45 from Ra are charged with one count of sedition contrary to Section 67 (1) (a) and one count of urging political violence contrary to Section 65 (1) (b) of the Crimes Decree 2009.
