Police: Body Of Baby Found In Bus Buried

The body of the baby found inside a bus in Wainibokasi has been buried.
This was confirmed yesterday by Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro.
It’s been four months since the body was discovered inside a KR Latchan bus – registration ES 707, which was parked at a garage in Wainibokasi on July 4.
Ms Naisoro could not confirm who buried the baby and when.
Fiji Sun spoke to a staff member at Wainibokasi Hospital last night but declined to comment on the matter. However, she said to contact the hospital’s superintendent today for information.
“All necessary processes of investigations were carried out prior to that and we still have no positive leads about the mother of the baby,” Ms Naisoro said.
“We are pleading with members of the public to come forward or call our Crime Stoppers line on 919 so that we are able to locate the mother of the child.”
The discovery of the body was made after 8am by a 56-year-old mechanic who was cleaning the bus. The bus was parked at the garage since its last trip on Saturday night after 7pm on July 2.
Police had earlier said the post mortem result of a baby revealed that the baby was suffocated to death.
Police have also released pictures of the clothes in which the dead baby’s body was wrapped.
They also released a picture of the black shopping bag in which the body was found in.
The black bag was a Morris Hedstrom shopping bag bearing the words MH My Store.
Police investigations continue.
