Fruits worth $70,000 donated by Turners & Growers (Fiji) Limited

Turners & Growers (Fiji) Limited will donate Kiwi fruits worth $70,000 to central division schools.

This was confirmed by the Turners & Growers procurement manager, Reginal Sami during the distribution of the Kiwi fruits to students at the Swami Shraddhanand Memorial Primary School in Nabua, near Suva, yesterday.

He said Turners & Growers had invested a total of $210,000 in donating Kiwi fruits to schools around Western and Central divisions.

“$140,000 worth of fruits was donated in the Western Division schools in August and $70,000 worth of fruits will be donated in the Central Division.

“The main purpose of the donation is to promote healthy living and lifestyle for our children.

“We chose Kiwi fruit because it’s one of the high nutritious fruit inclusive of vitamin A, C and E,” Mr Sami said.

School head teacher Saten Maharaj, said he is thankful to Turners & Growers for a free donation of the fruit.

“A total of 75 cartons of Kiwi fruit have been donated and each student will get approximately one kilogram of Kiwi fruit amongst the 700 students,” Mr Maharaj said.
