Rodu Wants Best For O-League

The Rewa football team will scout for talented players to boost their O-League campaign.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday head coach Marika Rodu said they have a few players who have what it takes to be in the O-League team.

“Three or four players have it and those that have been in the national team have what it takes,” Rodu said.

“Five were part of the Olympic squad and I think they have what it takes but that’s not enough. We can make some and we will definitely have to get some more. We will have to consider a few overseas players that might come in the Pacific Cup who will be eligible to play and also look at other districts to see if we can get players to strengthen the squad.”

Looking back, Rodu says, they have climbed the ladder right to the second spot of the Vodafone Premier League and hope to get the number one spot next year.

“As far as national league is concern this is the first time that we have attained the second position after we came third last year. As far as the competition level is concerned we understand the importance of it.  As for the players and officials it is something new to experience and I will make sure that we plan ahead. So with the remaining three months we will make sure that we select potential players and take a good team to Tahiti,” he added.
