Former Star Midfielder Returns

Former Fijian football star midfielder Ronald Chaudhary is going to play for the Nadi Masters Vancouver side in today’s R.C. Manubhai/APCO Coatings International Veterans tournament at Prince Charles Park, Nadi. He was one of the stars of the late Billy Singh coached- national side that came close to qualifying for the FIFA World Cup

MARTIAL STATUS: Married with 5 children
RESIDENCE: I left for Fiji for the USA in 2000 and moved on to Canada in 2009
FOOTBALL RECORD: I moved to Tavua from Nadi when I was 10-years-old. At the age of 16, I played for Tavua Youth and then went on to represent Loloma Youth Club. A year later I represented Tavua while I also captained the Tavua Youth simultaneously.
In 1987, when I was 18, I was selected to play for the Fijian National Team and from 1988 to 1992, I played for Nasinu and we won the IDC in 1990. My last seven years in Fiji (1993-2000) was spent with the Rewa football team.
NATIONAL TEAM: I played for Fiji from 1988 to 1998. Under coach, the late Billy Singh I was part of the victorious Melanesian Cup team. I also played in the FIFA World Cup qualifying round against Charlie Yanko’s led Australian Socceroos in a two-match series.
We won the first game 1-0 but lost 5-1 in the return match in Newcastle, Australia. I also represented the Fijian national Futsal indoor team.
