Labasa One trio Losana Musuvanua, Ateca Yabaki and Repeka Vulacili have won gold medals in their respective events during the Northern Chow Games at Subrail Park, Labasa yesterday.

The Labasa Primary School students were the toast of the Macuata squad during last year’s Chow Games when they won gold at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

During the finals, Losana again showed her class when she won the Under-13 200metres while Ateca took out the U14 400m and Repeka came in first in the U12 200m.

“We are so happy because we have won gold today just like last year’s Chow Games in Suva,” Ateca told SUNsports.

Losana said they have been training hard under the guidance of their head coach Wiliame Gavidi for the past seven months.

“Our aim was to win gold. We are thankful to Master Gavidi, our parents and the organisers of our zone for their assistance and support.”

Repeka said the secret of their success lies not on their strength but their faith in God.

“God is the source of life in this world. Through Him we were able to stay united as a team and together we’ve encouraged each other to excel in our individual events,” she added.
