The Lote Delai-coached Ba team started their campaign on a high note with a 3-0 victory over USA Masters during the RC Manubhai/APCO Coating International Veterans Tournament at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.

Striker Usaia Koroiwaca, slotted the first goal in the 18th minute to lead 1-0 at halftime.

Ba had the services of Lorima Dau, Jone Naquruwati, Shiu Sami and goalkeeper Iosefo Vosaboto.

On the other hand USA had the services of Freddy Evans, Kishore Kumar, Joeli Baleidrokadroka, Intiaz Khan and Akuila Bulewa.

Ba came strongly in the second spell to score through left link Solomoni Nale and Naquruwati.

Delaia thanked the Fiji Football Association and

stakeholders for organising the tournament.

“It was a good game especially to win with three goals, but there were a lot to work on,”Delai said.

“Our aim is to win this year. This is a good initiative to have a veteran competition. Interestingly we met some players after 19 years such as Freddy Evans (former Lautoka striker).

When this edition went to the press last night, the matches yet to be played are  NZ Tavua – Canada, Suva Masters – Tavua, Suva – NZ Lautoka.
