In an effort to build safe and resilient communities from the dramatic change in weather patterns, a number of Disaster Risk Reduction Project have been implemented by the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO).

One such project is the Wainibokasi River Bank Protection at Nabitu village, Tokatoka, Tailevu.

Director NDMO Akapusi Tuifagalele said the project aimed to build sustainable communities and protect communities from the impact of flooding.

Mr Tuifagalele said the project involved the construction of river bank protection structure at the frontage of Nabitu illage.
