Girl Tops All-boys School

The villagers of Navosa have been assured of better access to health and medical services and facilities by the Acting Prime Minister and Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
He revealed yesterday that a 22-bed hospital was planned for Keyasi Hill Station. Work on upgrading the existing five-bed facility would begin by February.
Not only that, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum stated that the hospital would be equipped for minor operations.
He said the Government was currently calling for tenders.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum was chief guest at the annual prize giving ceremony of Sacred Heart’s Primary School in Namoli Village in the interior highlands, bordering Naitasiri, Namosi, Ba and Navosa yesterday.
He addressed the villagers of Namoli.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum took the opportunity to speak to the villagers and explain to them about the Government initiatives and the progress it was undergoing in terms of education, road infrastructure, health and medical services.
“And the reason why we are doing that is because we believe, like I said, all Fijians in any part of Fiji must have equal access.”
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said he was happy to visit the village.
He told the villagers the reasons why they attended the prizegiving ceremonies.
He said: “We as a Government, under our leader Prime Minister (Voreqe) Bainimarama believe that the children really are our future.”
He added that every child in Fiji must be educated regardless of where they lived.
The school accommodates 50 students from Year One to Four and has three teachers.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum postponed his meetings in Suva yesterday and scheduled the visit to Namoli instead. He said he wanted to hear first-hand an account of the issues and challenges that faced the people.
He also encouraged the villagers to maintain their healthy lifestyles.
