One can achieve their dreams and aspirations with hardwork and dedications, says  13-year-old student, Reeshal Christine Ram.

Reeshal was nemd Dux of Kavanagasau Sanatan Dharam Primary in Sigatoka.

At the school’s prizegiving ceremony on Wednesday, Reeshal also scooped other awards.

She attributed her success to her parents who have supported her to excel in her achievements.

“I am very excited as this is the best day of my life. I worked very hard to achieve these prizes and I am also proud that these prizes were presented to the Minister for Health and Medical Services Madam Rosy Akbar,” she said.

“I am determined to work hard as I continue to pursue my dream career as a pharmacist.

“I would like to thank my dad and my mom as they always encourage me to do my best in my studies.

“I would also like to thank the teachers for their continued support and motivation.”

She also encouraged students to work hard to believe in their abilities and never give up on their dreams.

The Minister for Health and Medical Services Rosy Akbar said: “The theme, Quality Education for Sustainable Future is aligned with the Fijian Government’s vision for the development of education sector.

“To the teachers I would like to thank you for moulding our children.

“While the Government is providing assistance in the form of Free Education Initiatives, the support of parents towards the development of their children is also important. As parents and teachers we need to be good role models for our children.

“Families are encouraged to live a healthy lifestyle and there is a policy to ensure that school canteens sell healthy food.

“The School Health Policy was recently launched and this was done in partnership between the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health and Medical Services to effectively address the health issues.”
