Quinlan ‘Set’ to Fight Here

The reigning IBO International Super Middleweight champion Renold Vatubua Quinlan is likely to feature in a boxing programme in Fiji in February.
This was confirmed by Quinlan sponsor Blue Gas in Suva yesterday.
Blue Gas executive chairman Ajai Punja said they decided to sponsor Quinlan because he will also be representing Fiji in his international fights.
“There is a possibility that he will come and defend his title in Fiji,” Punja said.
“Discussions are underway at the moment and if all falls into place he could fight here on February 3.”
Quinlan is an indigenous Australian and has maternal links in Viwa, Bau, in Tailevu.
His maternal grandfather Sailosi Vatubua, represented Fiji in amateur boxing and won the gold medal at the 1966 South Pacific Games in Nouméa.
Quinlan is ranked 11th in the middleweight division in the world.
He has fought 12 times, won 11, seven by knockouts and one loss. Edited by Osea Bola
