Sokiveta Top At RKS

Lacking financial support did not stop Viliame Sokiveta from being the 2016 sportsperson during the Ratu Kadavulevu School prizegiving yesterday.
“When I was told that I will be the sportsperson of the year I did not believe it but I thank the Lord for giving me the strength.”
Sokiveta said it was never an easy journey.
“All the struggles and difficult times I went through it was only God that was pulling me through. I sometimes I face financial problems and support, I still believe that God will help me through,” he said.
“At times I need money but that doesn’t stop me from moving on and I never lose hope.”
He said most times his parents were not there to watch and support him,
“I always thank the Lord that even if my parents are not there He is always there for me and leads me.
“I’m looking forward to defend this award next year but I know this will require commitment and focus,” he added.
His mother Alisi Sokiveta was grateful.
“I am very happy and I know he has been really working towards getting the award. He deserves it,” she said.
Sokiveta captained the RKS Under-16 rugby team.
