Ba Legends scored their second win in the RC Manubhai/APCO Coating International Veterans tournament at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.

After downing USA 3-0 in their first pool fixture on Wednesday, the Lorima Batirerega-led side defeated Rakiraki by the same score-line yesterday.

The Ba side looks a formidable side with other star of the yester-years in the likes of Meli Delai, Josaia Dau, Shiu Sami, Jope Naquruwati and Iosefo Vosaboto contributing to their success.

Sydney Ba fielded a formidable side that had Arif Azam Khan, Shalen Lal, Rohitendra Sharma, and Mohammed Shafeem who were joined by local players in the likes of Joji Rasila, Bakalevu Moceimereke and Josefata Malakai.

Home team, the JK Builders Nadi side, began their campaign with a 2-0 win over Lautoka.

Sairusi Niulevu and Rajesh Krishna scored a goal each.

Nadi captain Ponipate Naulu said it was important to start on a winning note.

“We have not had much time to train as a team, but we are happy to have earned our first three points,” the lanky Naulu said.

“It’s a tough competition with plenty of good teams and wellknown players on show so we need to keep up with our game to stand a chance of progressing to the knockout stage.”
