USA All Stars Bounce Back

The Kamal Hassan-captained USA All Stars bounced back in style to win 2-1 over Rewa in the Ram’s Cleaning Services Pacific Cup at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.
Hassan headed the first goal in the 16th minute to lead at halftime 1-0. Taione Kerevanua equalised through a penalty in the second spell, but in the 64th minute John Hoffman scored.
On Wednesday night Rewa also lost 2-0 to Lautoka with goals from Zibraaz Sahib (penalty) and Samuela Drudru.
The Kamal Swamy-coached Lautoka Blues side suffered a 2-1 upset to the Auckland All Stars.
The Kiwis had the likes of Ratu Luke Lomasalato, Sheik Moshin and former Auckland City reps Iwa Shaker and Andrew Milne.
The visitors scored in the 16th minute through Shaker. Lautoka was awarded a penalty just before halftime after Dave Radrigai was brought down inside the box by Moshin.
Defender Zibraaz Sahib scored the equaliser, but Auckland All Stars were able to seal the victory from a penalty.
Shaker, who was on his way to score, was tripped by defender Jone Vesikula and referee Ravitesh Behari awarded a penalty.
Solomon Islands international Benjamin Totori beat goalkeeper Benaminio Mateinaqara to seal the win.
Swamy was disappointed with the performance.
The Imdad Ali-coached Ba side bounced back to defeat NZFFI All Stars 2-1 with goals from Ronil Kumar and Samuela Nabenia while Abbu Zahid scored for All Stars.
Meanwhile when this edition went to press last night defending champions Nadi were leading Labasa 1-0 at half time.
