The Wainibuka team are confident of a better performance in the 2016 Central Division FMF Chow Games which starts at the ANZ Stadium today.

While most teams had taken rest before the big games, the 80 athletes from the Tailevu team had their first and final training session on the track to get a feel of what to expect.

Coach Adi Talatoka Likuvesi said the athletes are excited and hope to do well today.

“We had a thorough preparation which started two months ago. We had a three nights camp at Naseva Village and we hope to go back with a few gold medals,” she said.

“The support has been overwhelming from the villagers who voluntarily look after the children and providing meals.

“We are calling on relatives in Suva to come down and see the children all the way from Wainibuka participating.”
